Impressive performance from St Cross ends season in style.

Sunday marked the end of the season for St Cross Girls U11. Facing local rivals Easton, long-serving team members Camilla and Bea were playing their last game for the side before moving up to U13 next season. Captaining the side, Emma won the toss and put Easton into bat.

Opening the bowling for St Cross, Camilla and Emma set the tone for the innings, conceding just three runs from their four overs, taking three wickets. Amelie and Tilly were similarly precise in their bowling taking a wicket each. Ella and Atana continued their fine bowling this season giving away few runs before Amelie returned with Bea for a final spell where both girls were on hat-tricks in their respective overs - with Bea taking four wickets for eight runs in her two overs. The girls should be very proud of their collective bowling and fielding performance. The opposition supporters even commented on how well drilled the St Cross girls were in the field.

The St Cross girls set about their batting with urgency. Bea and Emma opened, hitting eight boundaries from their four overs. Tilly and Amelie came in as the second pair, Tilly hitting five fours in destructive fashion as she top-scored, supported by Amelie who hit a classy cover drive for four. Ella and Atana, batting third kept up the pace scoring three boundaries each before Camilla and Bea came out to close out the innings - and their time with the GU11 team. Camilla (as she has done all season) batted beautifully as Bea ended the innings in style, clearing the ropes with a huge six. As well as the big hits, the St Cross innings was characterised by their tenacious running between the wickets.

Beating Easton by 345 runs to 211, St Cross showed the progress they have made this season with a most impressive all-round performance. Every single girl contributed with the bat, ball and in the field. We look forward to seeing what the girls can do next season.
