Record win for St Cross Girls U11 vs Trojans

On Sunday, St Cross Girls U11 beat Trojans B, winning by a huge 143 runs.

Batting first, Trojans skillful young batters struggled to score runs from the St Cross bowling. Opening the bowling, Ella and Jess gave very little away before Heidi and Camilla took three wickets in as many overs. Bea was virtually unplayable taking two wickets in her first over, bowling in partnership with Kitty, who's impressive new look bowling action took another wicket. Isla closed out the bowling with another wicket, leaving St Cross with 223 to chase.

Opening the batting for St Cross, Jess and Ella rattled off the runs needed within three overs, with Jess reaching the boundary four times. Heidi and Isla followed up with some great hitting and running between the wickets - Heidi getting three fours. The best was yet to come with Bea and Kitty who scored 54 runs from their four overs, Bea scoring four fours and some lightening sharp running between the wickets accounting for the other runs.

Finishing the innings, Jess came back to partner Camilla, who between them piled on another 61 runs, with five more fours from Jess and a magnificent six from Camilla to round off the innings.

An absolutely fantastic team performance from the girls as they go into the final couple of matches of the season.
