A solid all round performance from our 2s delivered almost maximum points (23 vs 24), as we beat both Petersfield and the rain. Batting first there were solid contributions through the order – Steph Trueman (30), Lesley Hubbard (23), Kirsten Davenport (35 – in her first game of her 10th St Cross season), Jess Wilson (14), Immy Davies (32*) - which took us to 175 for 8 in the allotted 35 overs.

In reply Petersfield were never in the hunt after Becca Gunstone dismissed both openers with 20 on the board. Wickets fell at regular intervals, and with very accurate bowling only two 4s were scored in their entire innings. Just before another big black cloud dumped its load we took the last Petersfield wicket (run out) to finish their innings on 89 after 30.2 overs. Wickets were spread amongst our bowlers, with Becca taking 3 for 21 off 6 overs, U15 Yasmin Patel in only her second senior match delivering outstanding figures of 6-3-5-2, and a wicket apiece for Michelle Murphy, Emma Tayler, Lesley and Immy.

We remain top of the division, but a crunch match awaits next Sunday, as we travel to second placed Eversley who have also won all their matches to date.
