Even though St Cross was on the wrong end of the score it was a lovely morning of cricket in the sunshine. St Cross won the toss and decided to bowl and made a very tidy start. Joseph ending with figures of 2 for 5 from his spell; but I thought everyone bowled well and contributed to restricting Trojans. However, their last pair did the damage scoring 49 from their four overs! The bowling was OK, we just came up against a couple of big hitters.

We started off very slowly in the field, little energy and it seemed that the boys were still thinking of the football from the day before. However, some wonderful fielding from Arthur resulted in at least two run outs and this got the team going (their coach said it was one of the moments of the season for him...well done Arthur!!)

We knew it would be tough to chase down 91 and it proved a little too much for us. There was some decent batting, Joseph with 19 (although a couple of crazy run outs took the shine off a little bit), Zac with 12, Grey 13 and Freddie 11, all got into double figures. Unfortunately, their best efforts were not enough.

Some real improvements and I thought the boys were a great advert for St Cross. Well done all, more to work on, it would be nice to start the game in the field how we ended it!! Full of encouragement and energy.
