Convincing win for St Cross GU11 vs Ropley

After losing the toss and being put in to bat, Tilly and Emma opened the batting impressively, making the most of a challenging bowling attack. Their great start was built on by Bea and Camilla and then Lara and Kitty, before Amelie and Atana piled on the runs in the final overs with Atana top-scoring and hitting three boundaries off the final three balls. Only two wickets were lost in the entire innings, as St Cross posted a season-best score of 313.

Ropley's response was limited by the loss of wickets in the first two overs from Atana and Amelie. Star of the bowling attack was Kitty, taking one wicket for just one run in her two overs with her new-look bowling action. Emma and Tilly, whose energy in the field set the tone, closed out the innings for Ropley who could only manage 270 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in response to St Cross.

Fantastic individual performances from each one of the girls as part of this high-energy team, captained today by Camilla, produced their best performance of the summer. There is definitely more to come from this group of girls, but today's match was a lot of fun to be involved in and the girls should be most proud of their performance.
